The latest version of the Mac Mini computer, which was released in May 2011, includes HDMI functionality as standard. Using the in-built HDMI port, you can transfer high-definition audio and video content over an HDMI cable to other devices, such as your TV screen.
As long as your TV also has an HDMI port, you can enjoy all the content on your laptop on the big screen. You can put on video presentations, screen movies, play games and music, and put on a slideshow of all your holiday snaps – or whatever else you like.
The following are a few quick steps you will need to follow to connect your Mac Mini computer to your TV via HDMI cables:
1. Turn on your TV or other HDMI display device, and select the HDMI input
2. Connect one end of your HDMI cable to the HDMI input port on the back of your TV
3. Plug in the other end of your HDMI cable to the HDMI output port on the Mac Mini (if you have an older version of the Mac Mini, without a native HDMI port, you will need to use a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter)
4. Turn on your Mac Mini, which should automatically detect the device and configure itself appropriately
